My first stop was at a small restaurant in the heart of Belgrade called “Kafana”. It is one of the oldest restaurants in Serbia and has been serving authentic Serbian dishes since 1871! The atmosphere inside was cozy, with old wooden tables, traditional music playing in the background, and happy customers enjoying their meals.

Other common treats include buñuelos, which are like slightly crunchy pancakes made from wheat flour or masa harina; and flan, a creamy custard-like dessert that can be flavored with caramel or fruits.
