Cahal Pech is an ancient Maya site located in the Cayo District of Belize near San Ignacio Town. Belize is a country of culture, adventure and the most delicious food! As I stepped foot into this vibrant nation, I was overwhelmed by all the flavors that surrounded me.
The first dish I tasted was Belizean Rice & Beans – an iconic combination for locals as well as travelers like myself. The beans were cooked in coconut milk and seasoned with garlic, onion, thyme and cilantro. When mixed together with the savory rice it created a hearty meal that bursted with flavor.
