My first stop was in Split where I tried Peka – a traditional Croatian dish made with meat or fish cooked in an underground oven covered with hot coals. The juicy lamb tasted like it had been marinated for hours, and it melted in my mouth when combined with roasted potatoes seasoned perfectly with rosemary and garlic.
