My first stop was at Restaurant Schonnemann, one of Denmark’s oldest restaurants that serves classic Danish smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches). These sandwiches are made with different types of rye bread and topped with various ingredients such as smoked fish, pickled vegetables, eggs or cheese. The flavors were fresh and vibrant—a perfect combination of sweet and savory!
