New Zealand is a magical place, and the food here is no exception! On my first day in Auckland I had to try some of the local cuisine.

I started off with a traditional Maori dish called Hangi. It consists of meat and vegetables cooked in an underground oven using heated stones. The flavor was incredible – smoky and earthy from the fire-cooked veggies, but sweet from the succulent pork that had been marinated for hours prior. The combination was absolutely heavenly!
